About Behaviorlist

Behaviorlist is an outline of human behavior from a sociological point of view. We look at the social pressures that shape behavior and the way that behaviors serve social functions. Most materials on the web look at behavior from a psychological point of view so we hope that with time, this can become a unique and valuable resource.

We hope to cover a wide range of concepts to become an encyclopedia of behavior. Our approach views people as rational whereby they shape their behavior over time to deal with their experiences and constraints. We try to view people with sympathy and compassion. While some behaviors are negative, we believe in the inherent goodness and worth of people.

This is a new site begun in 2025. As we are working hard to improve it we thank you for your support. If you have any feedback please let us know.
